Ai's Cooking Class
Ai’s Cuisine will offer you a great time while teaching you how to make authentic Japanese dishes. Just like visiting local Kyoto friends, you will experience the joys of cooking in an intimate environment. During Ai’s cooking class, you will be immersed in the culture of Japanese food and learn about the importance of seasonal ingredients in traditional cooking.
Ai spent many years in Europe (France and Germany) sharing the subtle flavors of Japanese cuisine with cooking lovers. She speaks Japanese, English,French, a bit of German and try to learn Chinese!
Ai offers a home-style dinner plan. She will tell you all you want to know about the ingredients, how to prepare them but also how to present the dishes. Enjoy a great cooking class and try to reproduce at home what you have learned! The experience is shared and can accommodate up to 5 guests. The cooking class can be arranged at your facilities. Please inquire if interested. Experience from 15:00 to 18:00, Price: 8,000￥/ person.
When booking a stay check the box for Ai’s cuisine and let us know 3 preferred dates for the cooking class, food restrictions if any (vegetarian, vegan & Gluten free can be accommodated), and let us know if you have special request. After we checked the availability we will get back to you.
30% cancellation fee applies, once the booking is made.
From 7 days prior and in case of no show, 100% of cancellation fee applies.
Please note that the class will be canceled if you are late on the day and do not contact Ai within 15 minutes after the starting time; and the experience will not be refunded. If you have any question please feel free to inquire.

OKAMOTO kimono Rental
Established 180 years ago, Okamoto is where kimono rentals for sightseers was born. Okamoto has seven rental shops, each of them well located near popular sightseeing spots such as Kiyomizu Temple, Yasaka Shrine, and Gion, the Geisha district. Okamoto offers a fantastic collection of kimonos, yukatas, and Hakamas to find the perfect fit for you! They offer several plans, among which the special size (over 170cm) plan and the full outfit plan that we recommend. You could also have your hair styling done by a professional. Enjoy a stroll through the ancient capital of Kyoto dressed in a kimono for memorable memories.

IC CARD
The IC Card is a rechargeable transportation card. It is extremely convenient because it is valid when riding on almost every train companies and transport type (except bullet trains, subway, bus, ferries) across Japan. You can also use the IC Card to pay for groceries and other errands at convenience stores and some supermarkets. Depending the region, the card is named differently and displays a different design. Here in the Kansai area (Kyoto and Osaka) we have the ICOCA and PiTaPa card. Upon request, we will provide you an IC card with a 1,500 JPY credit included. Please note that prior to come in Kyoto you traveled in Tokyo and already have a PASSMO or SUICA Card then you don’t need to purchase the ICOCA, as the SUICA and PASSMO can be used throughout all of Japan including the Kansai area.
